On Wednesday, 29th January, 2025, Centre for Community Development Health and Family Enhancement Initiatives (formerly Community Development Initiatives (CDI)) team had a productive meeting with Dr. Ogunsola, the Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Ministry of Health, at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta. The visit was part of the ongoing efforts under the Salvage program, focusing on advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) in the state. During the meeting, the team engaged in insightful discussions on strategies to successfully implement the project, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and community engagement.
The conversation also highlighted the utilization of the S.T.O.P Guidelines as a critical tool in eradicating gender and sexual-based violence (SGBV), ensuring a safer and more equitable environment for all. Dr. Ogunsola commended the organization for its proactive approach, noting that the initiative aligns perfectly with the urgent need for such interventions in the state. He offered valuable advice on effective project execution and reaffirmed his unwavering support for the cause.
As a gesture of appreciation and partnership, the team presented a memorandum outlining key gaps in the S.T.O.P Guidelines, along with actionable recommendations to enhance its impact. The meeting concluded with the presentation of a customized tee-shirt and copy of the referral form to the Executive Secretary, symbolizing the shared commitment to driving positive change in Ogun State.
